Big John. The John Hancock Center located at 875 N Michigan Avenue in Chicago, IL on July 24, 2006. N5XKB, Craig Fincher, took this photo of the John Hancock Center with Lake Michigan in the background while he and N5AMF, Amy Fincher, visited the observation deck on the 103rd floor of another famous Chicago skyscraper-- the Sears Tower. The antenna structures [East Tower] [West Tower] at the top of the John Hancock Center reach 1,500 feet above the city of Chicago. NWS Introduces Storm Based Warnings
The National Weather Service will introduced storm-based warnings for tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flash floods, and marine hazards that are more geographically specific for these short-duration weather events. Previously, such warnings are issued county wide.
